Project type

Institution

Date

2015

Location

Torino

Fondazione Sandretto re Rebaudengo is based on a private foundation and has its own institutional collection, with the aim of promoting contemporary arts in Italy - hence, supporting new commissions both of young talents and renowned artists ever since 1995. In 2015, I had the privilege of working with the Team of FSRR during my curatorial residency with two other selected curators as part of the Young Curators Residency Programme. The residency itself invited three chosen young curators to travel through numerous cities, visiting artists studios and institutions in Italy. As culmination of the project, we organised an exhibition, representing our angle of contemporary Italian art, influenced by the numerous studio visits and artists connections we had the privilege to build up. The institution has been rather supportive throughout this process and allowed us to explore and experiment, which resulted in the project "The man who sat on himself", a choreographed exhibition that turned the museum space into a stage, the visitors into actors and audiences.
